Hello! And welcome to my bio page!
And here it is-- a bit of background about who I am and what brought me here, to Lifestyles Fitness. I was born and raised on a farm in Owaneco, IL (that’s right, pigs, corn, beans!). My parents are Ron and Carolyn Jackson. I had a great childhood and stayed very active- between soccer, basketball, fishing, helping dad on the farm, riding bikes with my sister (Shelli) and overall just making the most of country life! I would not have traded that childhood for anything!!
After graduating from Taylorville High School, I headed to college at Illinois State University and graduated with a degree in Psychology (no jokes please). From there, I moved to Chicago to continue my education and graduated from Loyola University with a M.S. degree in Human Resources.
I then spent 15 years in Chicago (what a difference from my country life) before moving back “home”. I could not be happier to be back! I love being close to my family. And in moving back, I married Eric, my wonderful husband who shares the same passions and dreams that I have. We make a great team! God led me back here, no doubt about it!
Currently I work from home as an online faculty member, teaching business and human resources courses for a Chicago-based University. The position is great because it offers me the flexibility to live another passion, which is health and fitness.
Eric and I started Lifestyles Fitness because we see the effects that lifestyle choices can have. We understand the quality of life that comes from making the right decisions regarding activity and nutrition. We want to make a difference in our community, one person at a time! And we are enjoying making new friends in the process!
I do want to share a few other more personal thoughts for those who feel discouraged with their physical condition. I’ve been there and I know how it can consume you. But I trusted the Lord to help me through some of my darker days (and there were many of those while I lived in Chicago- ask me, I’ll share!!) and that trust brought me to a much better, more peaceful, place in my life.
I truly believe that God has a plan for each of our lives when we place our trust and faith in Jesus. We are taken down paths that at times do not make sense to us, but down the road, it all falls into place and is always perfect in the execution. There are valleys we go through in life, when things seem dark and discouraging. My favorite song right now is called Praise You in this Storm by Casting Crowns. It reminds me of what is important, and that I am not alone.
I want nothing more than to help you in your journey to a healthier “you”. We are here for you for any need- beyond just the physical. We love each of you!!
